I’ve started a evening class. Yes, I am now a fully paid up member of the middle classes, doing a real and proper evening class! It is an Introduction to Bee-keeping, and I am going with my eldest brother as we are pondering on keeping honey bees. We’re going to finsih our ten weeks prior to deciding, but the plight of the honey bee has intrigued us. Other than that… I am doing lots of training for work, and working hard generally, and blogging hardly at all! I think Chris had a nice birthday, although I had to work and was in Tavistock for a long day. Well, I am sure he had more fun playing Left 4 Dead with his online pals, anyway, but there we go! |

The first year he opened his presents on the terrace, in the early autumn sunshine below Tourrettes-sur-Loup. The second was a so-so day in boring Berkshire, with a curry from our favourite take-away. The third was out in Nice again, with a snazzy dinner at Issautier. The forth was our first living in sunny Devon, to celebrate he went surfing out a Westward Ho! Fifth one was fizz and just us. For the sixth I made a pathetic cloud cake and we had non-pathetic Wellington for our tea (cooked by someone else). The seventh is tomorrow; he is twenty-five, but I’ve only know him since he was eighteen. Seven birthdays and lots of gifts later, but still Happy Birthday Mr Chicken! |

So, we’re already in September and I have been quieter than usually, even. Oh well, it is a fact universally acknowledged that I work too many hours to blog much these days! Sorry anyone who still checks back here for updates… We had a nice bank holiday, with a little extra annual leave thrown in; looked after my niece and neph for a few days and swam and walked at Mortehoe with them and Ferris. Mum and I took them to Bristol Zoo, as well, which was a lovely little place, actually. Chicken’s birthday is rolling up, so I have been present hunting online and in Barnstaple. Ferris is his usual happy self and my allotment is a lot less happy… Oh well, time for a quick round of War Carft III before bed, bon nuit. |
