Mandie returns

Mandelson is back. Again. I am in a bit of shock over this appointment to the Cabinet, it seems really rather surreal to me. Again we’ve been treated to the sight of Kinnock, Prezza and Mandie ‘bopping’ to Things Can Only Get Better, again we’ve seen Mandie, head-bowed (slightly) leaving number 10 on not one but two occasions. And now he’s in the front door again, too. Of all the New Labour types I’ve always disliked Mandie the most, probably because he thinks he’s so clever and because of the mushy peas thing(someone I did my course with wrote to Mandie once to dispel the truth of the mushy peas incident and Mandie bothered to reply with a cloying ‘you shouldn’t believe the papers’ missive – I loathed him all the more). Still, we’re in a time of crisis, so what we obviously need is a somewhat sneaky, media-whore who thinks there are avocados in popular working-class dishes. Of course! Well done Gordon, well done. Otherwise things are quiet – Arsenal just got a goal to level things against chuffing Sunderland, the weather has been grotty over the weekend and I am shortly off to the gym and then work. |

Mandie makes my stomach churn and feel somewhat nauseous.
