Revolutionary Rants

Because Everything’s Political

I heard on the Grapevine

Warcraft Frozen ThroneAll quiet on the South Western front. We are planning a quiet weekend. Was expecting to go to the volunteering “do” at the beach tonight, but nothing has been heard, so guess it is not going ahead. Planning a quiet weekend. Chicken and Alex are taking the server up to Slough on Wednesday, poor old Wagon R will be feeling the miles this next month!

A couple of decent jobs to apply for, reading Left Bank, A history of Tractors in Ukrainian and A Tragedy Waiting to Happen: the Chaotic Life of Brendan O’Donnell. The latter is bringing back a few memories for me, not least of the day it all happened, when Al and I had to stay in the house. I had my first ever cup of tea that day (I always loved coffee, just not tea), it had one sugar in it. Dad spent a lot of the day reading to us, to keep us occupied, whilst we worried about Mum being out and about in Ennis.

We are still playing too much Warcraft III, although we did pause to watch The Restaurant last night, which is proving quite amusing. Some of the people are completely clueless - and highly irritating. A good mix for viewing enjoyment… Sadly the same cannot be said of Big Brother 8, which we haven’t been watching at all. As you will know, we normally like a bit of BB but we just haven’t been gripped by this year’s show at all.

The very noisy holidaying neighbours are just packing up to leave - hooray. Might get a bit of quiet this weekend with babies falling out of bed and screaming at 1:20am, shouting/crying all day and people thundering up/down stairs. Grumpy? Moi?

Just got my Grapevine alumni magazine from the University of not as good as Oxbridge and don’t we have a chip on our shoulder about it. It is bloody awful, plus all the Political Philosophy alumni mentioned seem to have dropped dead at 45…
