Its a most perculiar feeling, like sunburn in the evening

Croyde bayFirstly, happy twenty-second birthday to Alex!

Argh. My Goth-esque complexion has bitten me on the bum once again - I am badly sunburnt. It was fairly grey and missy yesterday when Simon, the kids and I set out for a visit to Croyde, but literally as we parked, the sun came out. And, we had forgotten the sunscreen. I regret it now, having spent an evening and night in considerable sun related discomfort. I have always burnt easily, and for the rest of the summer I plan to put sun screen on every morning before I head out for the day.
Well, we had a lovely time at the beach anyway, the kids braved the sea and we found crabs and fish in the rock pools, as well. Then we met their mum at the pub for a nice larger and lime. It is actually summer, at last!

However, Christmas has reared its head. Not only has a shop front in Bideford apparently been all decked out in cards and decorations, but there are bets on the Xmas number one already… There are some awful twins singing some El Divo style shite. They are truly ghastly and I hope they will have disappeared by December. Which, lest we forget, is several months away.

Nothing much planned for today, trip to the post office and the garage with the Wagon R. Then a visit to the ‘Bridge to drop off presents.
