Revolutionary Rants

Because Everything’s Political

City of Dreams?

Nothing much to report, work and volunteering go on, job applications roll off, Medievil 2 progresses.

Chicken and I sat down last night to watch a programme about one of our favourite places, Paris. Sadly, in a similar way to the tour of Italy that was on BBC2 a couple of years ago (which featured a puffed up Italian, perma-tanned and white haired reveling in the massacres carried out in Italy’s name), the whole programme was spoiled by a awful presenter. We attempted to watch the programme in French when the presenters laboured accent in English annoyed us, but the red button wouldn’t let us! Then she spoke in French and we realised it was just her general way of speaking that was annoying. She kept saying things like “the railways changed the way Parisians worked, rested and played”, or “the cafes changed the way Parisians worked, rested and played”, or “the Louvre changed the way Parisians worked, rested and played”. She was also full of uninteresting personal anecdotes which mainly seemed somewhat unrelated to the topics in hand…

I  wish the Beeb would return to narrator driven series instead of having prattish presenters waffling on.

…I just fell asleep while watching… Maybe overworked myself in the garden.
