Revolutionary Rants

Because Everything’s Political

Solo-efforts

Still feeling pretty chuffed. It was pouring last night so I made my first ever solo-drive to collect Mr C and bike from work so that we could head to the evil capitalist shop with a orange sign [sorry, Charles] shops. It certainly felt pretty weird to be driving off all on my tod, I can tell you. We celebrated my - eventual - success with a curry and a Beringer!

Chicken feels rotten, but has gamely headed off to work. I have more of a cold/cough today, after a sore throat day yesterday.

Now, as you know, I love my lists, so here is a list/questionnaire type blog thing!

Pick out a scar you have and explain how you got it

Other than pox marks, the only scar I can think of is a little tiny one of my right temple. The way I got it was rather odd. I was swotting for my A Levels in my brother’s sitting room in Mansfield. It was sunny and my sis-in-law decided to cut the lawn. I remained inside, with the French windows open to sit with my sleeping two-week old niece. Shortly, I heard a slight clunk and looked up, I saw a small object - a bee? - flying towards me. I shut my eyes, waiting for the impact of the bee and instead felt a whack on the side of my head. Wow, a hard, hard thing had hit me and when I opened my eyes all I could see was red. I was flipping Carrie! My nephew referred to it as my ‘bleed’ and although it was only a tiny nick from a stone sheered under the mower the blood was impressive. Not as impressive asit flying from a raised lawn, through French windows and hitting my head directly on the sofa, but hey…

What is on the walls in your room?

Boring generic paint, a Amelie film poster, “space cat” (a picture I did as a 4-5 year old), and pictures of Che Guevara and an “Elvis dog”.

What does your phone look like?

I have a grey old Nokia and a Binetone gray thing.

What music do you listen to?

Manic Street Preaching - always. They were my first driving track, yesterday! Heehee. Ironic as I don’t think any of them can drive…

What is your current desktop picture?

On Big Wig it is dementors surrounding Hogwarts, on Gromit it is the Eiffel Tower at night.

What do you want more than anything right now?

A labrador and a decent job.

Do you believe in gay marriage?

I am not sure I believe in marriage as a concept, but I think any people in relationships who wish to commit should have the same “rights” as any others.

What time were you born?

At about 2:00 am, I think.

Are your parents still together?

Why, yes.

What are you listening to?

The ever annoying Jamie Cullam waxing lyrical about Ella Fitzgerald on the Beeb news.

Do you get scared of the dark?

No.

The last person to make you cry?

Not sure.

What is your favourite cologne/perfume?

I like the one Mr C wears, which is some designer crap Al brougt him, I also like mine that Mr C brought me.
What kind of hair/eye colour do you like on the opposite sex?

Not bothered, generally. I am usually more interested in noses…

Do you like pain killers?

Yes, sadly, As Winston Smith said, it is impossible to wish to increase your pain at any time…
Are you too shy to ask someone out?

No.

Fave pizza topping

Capers.
If you could eat anything right now, what would it be?

Right now… tarramosalta on toast.

Who was the last person you made mad?

Mr C, by saying that Tintin was fascistic!

Is anyone in love with you?

Apparently so. Poor sod.

I like it. The first two TinTin books are a bit naive shall we say (if not racist), but he lived to repent and the ones he wrote in occupied Belgium seem to have a pretty good approach.

Ooh this has a spell check again!

Oh yes and aren’t the shareholders of the evil capitalist shop with an orange sign trying to beat off the even more evil so called venture capitalists or corporate rapists as we might consider them.
