Revolutionary Rants

Because Everything’s Political

Class, equality and county town

The tiolet???Did you know that it is apparently more “upper-class” to say ‘what?’ rather than ‘pardon?’

Well, it is, apparently. Chicken and I were saying that, as with most people I should imagine, we were taught that saying ‘what?’ to someone if you missed what they were saying it was pretty rude… You should also say ‘loo’ or ‘lavatory’ rather than ‘toilet’. How very odd. Well, the words”upper-class” do kind of cover “very odd”, I suppose.

This article is interesting, I wrote a similar type thing in our student paper in my third year and got a nasty letter sent in telling me that most feminists don’t want equality but actually want to take over the world. No, that’s just me… Still, a relevant article. I particularly like the idea that liking one’s body is a revolutionary act, especially in the current climate.

Off to Exeter today to get the last few bits we can get prior to right up close to the wedding (decorating the hall, doing the food, sorting the ale all have to be left until the last minute). Going on the train with my Mum. It is lovely and sunny today, which is always a bonus.

Enjoying the new series of Missing on the Beeb. Dunno why it is on at 9:15am rather than prime-time as it is an excellent programme, examining the investigations in to missing persons in Hackney and elsewhere in the country.

Anyhoo, need to ring the registry office to arrange to pay the fee ahead of time (a new policy, they say) so, toodle-loo for now or ta-ra me ducks!
