The Queen

It does be The QueenAhhh, what a lovely sleep I had last night. I really needed it after the busy weekend and a rubbish night on Monday to Tuesday (does that makes sense?). Now I and up and bouncy and the sun is shining away. Apparently the weather is more akin to June than April. I imagine it will be rainy, gray and miserable in May then!

I watched The Queen yesterday evening; it was a good solid film but it didn’t set the world on fire Helen Mirren and Micheal Sheen were both excellent (Sheen manages to do characters which are extremely easy to caricature but avoids the trap - as he does here and in his BAFTA nominated performance as Kenneth Williams) but the rest of the cast were a little bit hammy. Alex Jennings is always hammy, so this should not perhaps be held against him, but the usually great James Cromwell was a bit disappointing… It was interesting, though, and worth watching. It didn’t try to do too much, which is always a good move, in my opinion.
