Of lost philosophy

LostMr Chicken and i returned to viewing Lost last night. It went on a break before Christmas sometime (October, perhaps?) and returned to the US in February. We’ve had it there to watch for ages now, but never got round to it, but lets just say The Underdog Show drove us to it last evening…

I am pondering, regarding Lost: does the peppering of philosophers names mean anything? Is it merely another red herring? We have John Locke (who mixes his labour with the land?!), Rousseau (altho’ the character is called Danielle rather than Jean-Jacques), Edmund Burke, Mikhail Bakunin and Desmond David Hume (and one of Hume’s theories was, of course, related to causality!).

Int-er-resting, methinks. But it probably is a red herring as I don’t imagine your average individual would have noticed that various rather ancient philosophers keep cropping up. I must say I am getting a bit fed up with the whole thing, we need answers and less wishy-washy crap, in my opinion. We’ll probably keep watching anyway because now the bastards have got us hooked!
