Chickpeas rule

Yesterday we visited Nan and evil capitalist store with orange bits on the sign before spending the afternoon playing games on the PC/PS2, reading the paper and eating a lovely tea of falafel. Later on I enjoyed Lewis, which ended with an almost identical scene to one in an episode of Morse years ago. In a idyllic rural pub, Lewis drinking orange juice and his partner in investigation drinking a pint of ale… All very ripped-off now, but that’s quite nice in a way! I had a few memories brought back by this post. How well I remember going through the Broad Marsh and seeing little old Charlie flying around on his branch. Good to see he is still there, now that Nottingham is so changed. |

‘evil capitalist store’
This phrase has come up a couple of times now, and I feel compelled to add my 10 bob’s* worth.
Now is this being used ironically, I would guess so? So surely you are being complicit, and therefore evil yourself for getting involved. So you will have to find alternatives. Otherwise embrace the evil, but get into Fairtrade products, get real milk delivered to the doorstep, grow your own.
Oh I know it’s a grandmother and egg situation, but really you can’t have it both ways.
Rant over, love and peace.
* a bob is a shilling or 5p, so its not a lot…
