Day-tripper

Saunton SandsI am off out for an apportionment today and of course it is pouring. Typical. It is sunny on the days you don’t need to venture out, but now… Sod’s law I suppose…

Yesterday I headed out on a half-term trip with my niece, nephew, mum and brother. After a brief trip to evil capitalist shop, we headed out to Ilfracombe for some lunch and a go on the slots (I think this must be a northern thing, really, as the slots are very meager at the seaside resorts here (other than Westward Ho!). We then went to attempted to fly a kite (failed) and walked on the beach at Saunton Sands. I had not been before and it was very nice. Sadly, a man at Woolacombe beach had a less successful visit (to say the least…) as he got in to trouble with his surf canou and died. We saw the rescue helicopter but as it is always around we thought nothing of it, really… Very sad indeed.

Anyhoo, gotta go.
