Revolutionary Rants

Because Everything’s Political

A spammy weekend

John Cleese’s [God’s] feetThe weekend was very pleasant, but also very, very tiring! Our journeys were decidedly straight-forward, with nothing but a five minute delay on setting out from Barnstaple to get in our path. We enjoyed a pint outside Reading station and were briefly nostalgic in a ‘glad we don’t still live here’ kind of way before Charles picked us up and we returned to his home in Buckinghamshire.

On Saturday we headed to London (seeing the new Wembley stadium from the train, which is looking great) and met up with Chicken’s other brother Jim and his family. We had a look round the V&A and then went over to the Science Museum. Then, after the Northiam Boots headed off, Mr C, Charles and I walked through Hyde Park, had a tea in Soho, a look round the National Portrait Gallery and had a pint beofre heading to the Palace Theatre for Spamalot. Although I am not a Python person - or a musical person - it was very silly and Chicken laughed and laughed, which is enough for me! It was a lovely present, that’s for sure.

The stay with Charles was nice, we had a lovely couple of meals at his local pub/resturant, which is a fish based establishment; as well as sighting Jarvis Cocker in the cafe he recommended in London.

Today we are home again and Chicky is back at work and I had a day of looking after my niece and nephew, who are on half-term. Tomorrow I have my voluntary stuff, so busy, busy.
