Well done Chicken (and weather chaos)

Weather chaosLooks like we are one of the few parts of the country (and the “United Kingdom” as a whole) not to be covered in a deep blanket of snow. Even the tube has been affected! Somerset is covered, as well, apparently, and Bristol airport is closed so it sounds like it is very close. Here is is very, very windy and wet but not snowy. In fact I would say it is quite a bit warmer than yesterday. A good thing as I am going to walk the dogs with my brother and sister-in-law at Arlington Court (the local National Trust house and garden).

I love the way on the news they say “it is not a good day to venture out, unless you really, really have to”… Like most people have a choice.

Mr Chicken had some brilliant news yesterday; he’s got a pay rise!  Congratulations Mr C, you deserve it. I am very proud of him and I think he’s doing really well in his first proper job.

Apparently, holding hands in public is “the key” to a long lasting relationship. Chicken said, before heading off to work, that must be why we work out as a couple! We geneally always hold hands when out and about, which has often been the cause of scoffing and smiles from family members. I don’t think it can be true though, because both sets of our parents have been managed twenty-plus years and I don’t think I’ve ever seen either set hold hands in public… At least the key to a long relationship is not men doing house work (women pace to and from New York in a life time of hoovering, men from Landsend to John O’Groats…) as otherwise washing up would have have long come between us…
