I know I have often said that the left would be in a much more powerful position than the right if only we’d all stop fighting with one another and concentrate on the real “enemy”. But, despite having said this I just have to have a rant about George Galloway. The man really is a prat. He was on The Wright Stuff on Five this morning still harping on about how it is ‘more important’ for him to be on telly than it is to be in the Commons. He then took pot-shots at the PM for not being there and because he constantly went for the PR person’s prerogative . Pot, kettle and black are words that spring to mind… No, George, it is not all that important, it is merely shameless self-promotion. You obviously cannot be bothered with local level politics in your constituency (as, of course, it was more important to ‘connect’ with younger voters via the medium of television than it was to be around for an important transport bill regarding his own seat… No, transport bills are not sexy enough for gorgeous George). Like Ken Livingstone (although his is to a lesser degree) and Arthur Scargill Galloway is a lefty who ends up shooting himself in the foot constantly because what he is really interested in is George Galloway. The sort of person who stood around shouting about not selling out as Mandelson and Campbell got hold of the Labour Party and screwed it over, made it “New”. But, then again, as Chicken never tires of telling me, when the revolution comes it will be televised… Comments Off |
