Revolutionary Rants

Because Everything’s Political

Let them eat cake! And avoid BHS…

The wedding cake is cooked. Well, the first tier (second to be cooked) is just finishing off cooking in the oven, at a mere 120 in heat. Let us hope it shall be a success. Everything seems to be speeding up on the wedding front - “why, oh, why are we bothering?” I am beginning to think daily… We already feel married, but, hey, it’ll be good to see everyone and party I imagine.

The invitations have not happened, due to not visiting the craft shop, due to various things! BHS have also proved very annoying. I rang today to try to order the girl’s ‘marabou wraps’ (oh god, the evilness of it all!!!) and got a young French gentleman on the phone. I wanted to order them online, i said, “oh, you cannot do this, but soon” he offered. OK, says me. “Why not order to your local store?”, I explain I can’t because it doesn’t have the collection needed. “Oh, where do you live?”, “Barnstaple”. “Where is this? My geography is really bad!”, “errrm, the South West, below Bristol on that pointy bit”. “Oh, you go to Bristol then!”, “No, it is a long way away”. It all ends with him telling me to ring Bristol or go there… Great. Good old BHS!

We had a nice weekend, cooking cakes and doing very little generally. Always good. Tomorrow I start my new voluntary job, also good.
