Revolutionary Rants

Because Everything’s Political

Retail breakdown

Hooray. It is only the 17th of November, but I have done all my Christmas shopping bar a couple of small gifts. It is complex enough when you only have your own family, but, being as I am only in part-time employment at the mo’, I also had a plethora of Boots to shop for! Plus, several family birthdays at the same time! Still, it is done.

The third session of training was very interesting and the trip to and from Bideford surprisingly easy on the bus. I am also now addicted to Tesco fruit and nut mix, which we get at lunch whilst training! Not good…

Yesterday I was working in town and although everyone was buying either Christmas wrap/cards or umbrellas (there were huge - when they arrived, there was a crack, like a large sheet of wood had fallen over - and sudden hail storms in this part of North Devon yesterday) there was little evidence of the Christmas rush as yet.

One minor rant: how come the banks are happy to leave people’s details all over the bin area of their chains for anyone to find, but they won’t let you change your own address? We waited three weeks for a change of address form, and then it took a long phone aroudn the houses to actually change it today.

That’s capitalism for you…
