<description>Hmm, you seem to have so much anger in you Jess, and wasn't it part of the joke that her accent is so dreadful…
I am getting depressed by the really sad missed opportunity that is the new Robin Hood; as you know I was going to give it the benefit of the doubt, but it seems to be making everything ordinary. He is the superhero of his day, a British archetype, famous throughout the world. In this version he can shoot an arrow, albeit very well. And Marian is playing up the Nurse Gladys Emmanuel(?) a bit to far.
Oh well at least Torchwood looks like its going to be fun, and how about Greystoke, last night. I had fond memories of this film, notably the late great Ralph Richardson’s wonderful cameo as the old grandfather. But what a hoot presenting the Belgians as the good guys in Africa. You would imagine Emperor Leopold had never happened, but then again, if you visit Cap Ferrat, perhaps he didn’t.
