Well, freedom of speech it an increasingly big thing on both this blog, Chicken’s blog and in the UK in general. As such, I was pretty shocked (on more than one level) by the article written by Russell Brand in my Guardian Unlimited today. Sometimes you forget that we are currently in the twenty-first century. The twenty-first century where you can be stopped and searched for being Muslim; where being anorexic is cool; where we are on the vurge of going nuclear; where women earn a lot less than men. Where Madonna is still in the charts, whilst dancing in very little in her videos. Maybe we are still stuck in the eighties after all… |
