Revolutionary Rants

Because Everything’s Political

Another country…

It is hotter today. Last night, the lowest the tempreture dropped to was 21 degrees, accoridng to my beloved this morning, who’s computer tells him such useful things each day. Luckily, minus duvet we slept much better, despite my unease that for the first time in my life I am actually hoping for heat-cracking thunder!!! Actually, I think that the worst of my phobia may have been scared out by the midnight to five am uber-storm we witnessed in Tourette last September.

I think we were also helped by having a swim of over an hour in Barnstaple Leisure Centre. Apparently we can get unlimited swim for £20 a month, so we think we might go for that, as we love a swim and the weather is conducive!

Well, England may be out, Murray may have bombed, but today the hope of British sport takes once again to the field - it is my nephew and neice’s sports day! Prior to their certain appearences at London 2012 I shall be watching them this afternoon, from under my sun hat, of course.

I thought I would get my probation turn down/offer today, but it is 9:20 and there is no post as yet. Boo.

Oh no! I thought now we did not live in Yorkshire we would not have the ‘Yer buy one yer get one free!’ Safestyle advert, but no… It was funny last night, when on our local BBC News, Spotlight, there was a segment about a group of young British Asians who had come to visit Cornwell (2% ethnic population) from Bradford. It was treated as if they had come from another planet, as if they’d never even heard of the sea. It is a bit weird, having lived in Yorkshire for ages to hear of it being presented as such, and to live in a place so much less ethnically diverse.
