The DaVinci Code

Last SupperChris and I went yesterday afternoon to see the much hyped film of the much hyped book The DaVinci Code.

I borrowed the book, ages ago, from mother-in-law-to-be, but could never get in to reading it, so neither of us knew much apart from it featured Opus Dei, The Last Supper, a self-flagellating monk and it had annoyed the church.

We thought it was pretty good, our favourite Audrey Tautou was, as usual, very good, as were Tom Hanks, Sir Ian, Alfred Molina and the creepy Paul Betthany. The plot was quick and interesting and had things that made you half-believe the story (the person next to Jesus in the painting does look incredibly feminine, after all). All-in-all an interesting and slick thriller (without any real thrills, perhaps) and with the always fasinating Grail stuff thrown in. Definitly worth a watch but not one that will stay for you for long.
