Revolutionary Rants

Because Everything’s Political

Oh la la

We’re back up in West Yorkshire.

After one rather shocking and very, very tiring day in which we woke in Paris (with a big tall window looking out on a small park) travelled via Metro and Eurostar to London, and, after a stint on the tube, then GNER to Leeds and Transpennine Express to Huddersfield.

After a lovely Easter in Devon and Paris (more of which later once I have finished my Marxist Theory essay and been to Nice this coming weekend!!!!!!!!!) it is a little strange to be back up here on a day on which the whole town centre has been taped off by the police after a shooting “incident”…

Such is life!

A lack of posting

Yes, there has been a definite lack of posting recently. We have had a lovely (almost) couple of weeks in Devon, spending time with my family (especially my nephew and niece), going to the caravan, cinema, walks and doing some work.

Tomorrow we are off to Paris.

More on our return to the rather more gloomy scene of West Yorkshire!

Devon and ‘the city of light’

La TourTwo quite exciting things are looming on the horizon: one tomorrow, one in a little over a years time.

In a year, Chicken and I have finally set the date of our wedding. It will be in early May 2007, after a very long engagement!!! As an anarchist, it seems a little off to be getting married, but with this country’s bizarre laws regarding couple cohabiting, we think it is for the best to ‘tie the knot’ (what a hideous phrase)…

More immediately, tomorrow we are off to Devon. We are being evil and flying vie Leeds Bradford and Exeter. We’ll be there for a couple of weeks before, Chris, Mum, Alex and I will be going via London and the Eurostar to Paris. We can’t wait. As readers will know Chris, Mum and I went last year and we’re excited to go again: this time Chris and I will definitely find the Deux Moulin from Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amelie Poulin and climb la Tour. I had a dream about the Tour last night, a mixture of ‘climbing’ (a.k.a. being carried up) it with my Pa as a small child and The Lavender Hill Mob! Featuring Alex and Chris and I getting very lost amongst the metal mass of the structure!!! Hopefully this will not prove a dejavu!
