I feel a bit like the above quote today. The BNP leader Nick Griffin and the perhaps even more hideously opinioned Mark Collett were let off on race hate charges in Leeds yesterday. Even though the pair were almost immediately told they would face a retrial this is hardly the verdict one would have hoped for in this case.

It just brings us back to the question we are discussing week in and week out in one of my courses – what should we tolerate? How much freedom of speech should we have for people with hateful opinions like that?
