Revolutionary Rants

Because Everything’s Political

A working class hero is something to be

Today I worked a long, long hard day - on my feet non-stop - ushering people through the gowning and photo process at the University of Huddersfield’s graduation ceremonies.

It was quite amusing mostly; herding people about, shouting directions and manning the lift. However, some graduates and their family members can be very blooming rude! One woman even declared it was ‘like a concentration camp!’ which I thought was a tad over the top…

We had a half hour of darkness when I returned home, as the power went out in our area. All the house alarms were ringing out. One thing I find spooky is, having lived in Ireland - free of street lights - the way the sky is still red with light even when parts of the town are blacked out.

Time for ‘Macbeth’ now, and a bit of reading of MacIntyre, I suppose!

Ah, that is the time to drop in the comment that your fiancée’s grand parents were both in concentration camps and the comparison doesn’t really stand up.
