Today Bob Woodward confirmed that Mark Felt, former second in command of the FBI, was ‘Deepthroat’ - the most famous media source in the history of print! Woodward and his fellow journalist Carl Bernstein, as you will know, brought down the Nixon administration in the late 1970s, after Richard Nixon’s involvement in the Watergate scandal was exposed by them via their secrete source known only as ‘Deepthroat’. Having been fascinated by the Watergate scandal since seeing a film about the inner circle of the administration just before its fall, and then the wonderful ‘All the President’s Men’ later - I am from the kind of family which eats up the Watergate scandal much more than the JFK assassination (although we are interested in that too!)!!! |
