‘Liberal fascism’

Today the new Robert Kilroy-Silk, erm, sorry I mean Veritas, party launched their ‘manifesto’. Mr Kilroy-Silk use his podium to decry the ‘liberal fascists in London’ and the ‘multi-culturalists’; claiming that ‘no one had voted for Britain to become multi-cultural. This protestation really sticks in the throat, as Britain has always - more or less - been a multi-cultural society; we all have roots in various cultures - be in Roman, Norman, Anglo-Saxon, Irish, Pakistani, Polish, Romany, or, indeed, our current largest immigration groups (whatever Mr Kilroy-Silk and the Murdoch press may say) Australians and Americans. Also, one of the main reasons for immigration in this country is because we the Commonwealth - which, less we forget, was our own choice to ‘control’ - and because we as a nation needs immigration. |
