Revolutionary Rants

Because Everything’s Political

4 X 4 (or should that be 666?)

This morning Chris and I woke up and breakfasted with BBC1 News, as usual. Today, in the election issues on a motorcycle (random… At least on the six o’clock programme they get a bus) part of the wake-up show, they had a section about 4 X 4’s in the city of London.

This is certainly one issue that does get the blood-boiling! They looked at a school run and saw lots of the preposterous vehicles in inner-city London. No, I am not one of these people that says ‘they should all be banned!’ as I can see farmers and those who use them for their actual purpose (driving in and across the country with large loads) do really need them. However, people in towns and (the usual culprits - despite the fact that if one of these beasts hit a small child they would kill instantly) mothers delivering one little child to pre-school DO NOT!!!

I think that all the main parties would gain a huge number of votes (including in Barnstaple, where they are an absolute liability, especially when you are trying to park and one of these things practically drives over you to get in a space) if, like King Ken, they said that if elected they would tax these f**kers to the sky (at least the ones in towns / cities, and a good whack for extra petrol consumption - after all, you do get fined for using too much water in a drought, don’t you?)! They are dangerous, expensive (for us all, not just those who purchase them as a status symbol) and give the driver a false sense of power. TAX TAX TAX!!!!!!!!!
