Like all good drivers…

Yes, I failed (just) my first driving test. Never mind, almost everyone does, I gather! I am still quite happy because I feel like I can actually DRIVE now, I just need more practice to be a fully competent driver. I take my second test on the 23rd of June (no, I don’t waste time!). After this disappointment, I headed back to Reading on Wednesday. I was very sad to leave home - it has been great to be so busy and be back in Devon for a while, although I missed Chris a lot! I got back, slightly late (but much better than the later train, which were, apparently, over two hours behind), in the afternoon. On a more interesting note, we have a general election coming up. Yes, Mr Blair MP asked the Queen to dissolve Parliament - which will happen officially next Monday, I believe - so we have one month of full on election fever! Thus far my favourite story involves a local Lib Dem calling on my house in Devon and getting my younger brother, he looks at him, decides he is a youthful looking fellow and says ‘I guess you are not interested in politics, eh?’; to which my brother replies - deadpan, I trust - ‘well, actually, all four people who live in this house have or are taking Politics degrees’. Can you imagine his face? He probably thought he would say something like ‘no’ or ‘I am interested in the return of legal fox hunting’ maybe, but not that!!! Glorious. I am also loving the fact that the BNP are being dragged in to Court on racial hatred charges - about time! I don’t care if it is giving them tons of publicity, as with a Party such as this, I believe the higher their real profile is, the more people will not vote for them, but will be repulsed by their views. |
